I have used a monocle for over 10 years. I had laser surgery to correct distance vision but need reading aids. I didn't spend ll that money just to wear a different pair of glasses!.

I find that a monocle is absolutely perfect for looking at things quickly and without the hassle of checking every pocket for reading glasses. As the publicity says, monocles are perfect in restaurants, as one may have one eye focused on the menu and the other on the attractive waitresses!

I have purchased my last 4 or 5 monocles from Nearsites, and have found them to be of excellent quality, shipped on time and in excellent packaging.

A first-class product, promptly delivered. However, I share the view of Richard Gregson that a case to hold it while wearing it on the lanyard would be very useful. I have an old circular leather pouch for a monocle which the eyeglass slips into, very light and convenient. A new version would, I am confident, be popular with Nearsights customers.

I do a lot of photography and in so doing need to look at the dials and buttons and information panels on my cameras. I have used my reading spectacles on a string round my neck but they are an encumbrance when I also have a camera hanging in the same place and also almost always a pair of binoculars. Being almost blind in one eye the idea of a monocle came to me though opticians I approached looked askance and were not able to provide what I needed. A bit of web search found your product - I got the 3 dioptre polycarbonate lens version a couple of weeks ago and it so "just what I needed" that in the next couple of days I will be ordering a glass one made up to my optometrist's prescription. Remarkably fine product. Thank you.

A suggestion - could you come up with a protective soft case to keep it in while hanging around my neck?

I am starting to slowly have my reading vision blur and as I am legally blind in my other a monocle made perfect sense for me after a few minutes searching the web it became apparent to me that Nearsights was the right choice for me. Ordered the .5 magnification and took the 37mm size as I am only 5'9" tall...I worried a bit but once it arrived, very quickly by the way, it was the perfect choice for me...I am sure by reading the other reviews, that if it turned out to be too small, these folks would make sure I got the right one for me without any hassles. Top Shelf item from a Top Shelf company.

Very good glass so makes print sand out in dim light. Small, about the size of a quarter. Good thin necklace. Hangs down just right for me. Packaged nice and came here very quickly. Especially good now that summer has started. When wearing shorts and T shirt with no pockets. Good as a second magnifying glass when looking at really tiny things. I like it a lot. I've worn it everyday since it arrived a week or so ago. A small little handle that I hold. It wont fit and stay in my eye like one glasses thing. That was custom made for eacheye socket in the 18th Century.

Perfect monocle for my husband. I was glad there was a choice in sizes. I chose the larger one wisely.

The monocle I ordered was a little too large. When I tried adjusting the gallery it broke off. (I don't recommend trying to bend the gallery!) I emailed Nearsights on a Saturday about repairing and replacing the monocle and got a reply a few hours later. I received a replacement 3 business days later. I wear the monocle on the lanyard under my shirt when I don't carry my reading glasses. Very convenient! Great product, fair price and excellent customer service!

One of the galleries broke off on my Classic Model Monocle. I emailed the company asking if they did repairs. Mr J. Berry replied immediately and took care of me right away. Best service ever!!!!

The monocle itself is good with reasonable optic properties for off axis viewing. I would have liked a glass lens and or a monocle with just a circular rim with edge roughness to secure onto the eye area. This worked fine for one I bought in Germany (available at most opticians) that unfortunately was lost. For one thing, this allows the monocle to nicely drop when the eyebrow is raised, dramatically heightening the appearance of surprise at an untoward event.
Note that it took two weeks for the post office to deliver, stuck at the initial post office facility, until I sent an inquiry.
