Frequently Asked Questions
1. How does one wear a monocle?
A. Our Classic monocle is designed to be held in the eye by gripping the galleries - the tabs that protrude from the frame - between the eyebrow and cheek. To wear a Classic monocle first grasp the loop of the monocle in one hand - typically between the thumb and index finger. Then "hook" the upper gallery beneath the eyebrow and grip the lower gallery with the cheek. It may seem awkward at first but it becomes natural with practice.
By contrast, our Easy Reader monocle is not designed to be "worn" but rather to be held in front of the eye to provide the magnification of a reading lens.
2. Can I have my optician replace the standard monocle lens with one of my own prescription?
A. Yes. The frames of our Classic monocles are held closed by a small set screw. When the screw is removed the frame can be opened, the lens removed and a replacement lens fitted.
3. Does NearSights ship internationally?
A. Yes, we ship many international orders. They are shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail International. Delivery times vary depending upon destination.
